New Auto Renewing Pennie Post Subscription Option March 03 2015, 0 Comments

Some of you have requested an auto-renewing subscription for Pennie Post and it's finally implemented! Now when you go to our subscription page you will see four purchasing options: "Subscribe to Pennie Post" and "Pennie Post Gift Subscription" with both U.S. and international options. If you are purchasing this as a gift and want the subscription to last for a fixed amount of months, choose the "Pennie Post Gift Subscription" option. You may also purchase this option if it is not a gift, but you do not want to enroll in our auto-renewing program. Choosing the one time option means that your credit card will just be charged once upon initial purchase. Once the subscription is through you will NOT receive shipments unless you re-purchase a subscription.

If you would like to be charged monthly, and automatically receive your Pennie Post stationery subscription each month without hassle choose the "Subscribe to Pennie Post" option. In addition to auto renewing, you also receive a little discount. On the purchase page click on the "Subscribe & save" option. If you click the "One-time purchase" option you will only receive one month of Pennie Post cards.

With the "Subscribe & Save" option, your credit card will charged once when you purchase for your first month of Pennie Post, and then each month thereafter on the 15th of the month for the following month's shipment. Initial purchases made before the 15th of the month will receive the current month's mailing. Purchases made on or after the 15th of the month will receive the first mailing the following month. If you wish to cancel, please do so before the 15th of the month.

After your first subscription purchase is made you will receive an email from info@penniepost.com with a link containing your subscription information. From here you can manage your subscription. You can easily change your address information, credit card information, skip a month, and even cancel with ease. Please visit our FAQ page if you would like more info.

What if I have already purchased a Pennie Post Subscription? If you are currently receiving Pennie Post and have months left on your plan, your subscription will not be effected. Once your current subscription is through you can purchase our "Subscribe & save" option to switch to the auto-renewing option.

I hope you like this new subscription option! Please email me at info@penniepost.com if you have any additional questions.

Chit Chat with Kyla from Keeks Paper Co. January 20 2015, 0 Comments

February is just around the corner and Pennie Post is excited to be partnering with Keeks Paper Co. Every February Pennie Post subscription will come with a Keeks Paper Co. Valentine's Day card! I was lucky enough to ask owner and designer, Kyla a few questions about her stationery business. Enjoy!

How many years have you been designing your own cards, and how did you get started?

I have been designing cards for 2 years. I had been helping out at a flower shop, (The Floral Fixx in Winnipeg) and was chatting with my boss and coworkers about my hobby of painting and doodling in the evenings. Julie, my boss, said why not create some cards and sell them at the shop. So I did! I decided to approach other locals business' as well with my cards and it's been going great!

I’m always interested to see how other designers think. How do you gain inspiration to design you cards and what is your design strategy like?

My creative process usually begins on those fateful mornings when I accidentally drink too much coffee, or any coffee at all for that matter! I am quite sensitive to caffeine. The ensuing result turns to me laying in bed that night, staring up at the ceiling with no chance or hope of turning my brain off. So I make the most and see where my thoughts lead; creating and planning new designs and ideas that have built up from nuanced inspirations taken in over the past however long. I write them all down in my handy to-do app and see how they evolve from there. I am usually inspired by patterns and shapes, I like taking natural art forms and materials and manipulating them digitally, but not too much that they lose that natural feel and texture.

Every day must be a bit different when owning your own business, but what is a typical day like at Keeks Paper?

My typical day starts with either breakfast with a friend, (Because why not? -- and breakfast is my favourite meal) or a slow wake up. I have never been a morning person so I create for myself a later start. The rest of my day is spent answering emails, creating promotions, designing custom work for brides and business owners and listening to my studio partner (and sister-in-law) hammer away at her amazing jewellery designs-- it's all in the family. The one thing I learned in owning my own business is there is never a time when there is nothing to do. --and it's easy to forget to eat lunch.

What do you enjoy the most about your business?

That it's mine! Building up something you can call your own and take ownership of is quite satisfying.

What is your dream design project?

OH THERE ARE TOO MANY!

What are your top three favorite stores to shop at?

I'm not a big shopper and we don't have the best selection out here, but I enjoy those bookstores with a great knick knack section.

How did you come up with the name, Keeks Paper Co.?

A crazy and dear friend of mine gave me the nickname "Keeks". She was the only one who called me that, and she has since moved to the southern states. But I liked how it sounded. From time to time new clients call me Keeks, it's nice.

What are your hopes for Keeks Paper Co.'s future?

Keep growing and getting my name out there. I would just love for more people to see and love my work. It is the greatest feeling to be able to create things that other people also enjoy. I know maybe not everyone, but at least a few in this wide world.

Why Stationery Makes a Great Gift | Stationery Subscription Service October 16 2014, 0 Comments

It can be really hard to decide what to give someone as a gift, no matter what the occasion is. A lot of the decision on the actual gift is going to depend on who the person is and what they like, and some of that has to do with age. Young people love technology and related items, while older people would probably frown on such a gift. One of the things they might like is a gift subscription to a stationery subscription service.

Today we’re going to talk about who might like stationery as a gift.

People Who Like Sending Handwritten Notes

Stationary, especially personalized stationery is a great tool that a lot of people still use, despite the prevalence of email and Facebook. If you know a person who likes to send hand written notes, a subscription to a stationery service will be a great gift that they will be able to use over and over again.

Great gifts are often forgotten, but a subscription service like this will remind them often about how much you care.

People Who Like Sending Cards

Another group of people who may enjoy the gift of a stationery subscription service would be people who enjoy sending out cards for every occasion. When people think of stationery, they most often think of a pad of paper with some designs and some personalization on it; but cards are also considered stationery.

While e-cards and simple e-mail have over taken the art of sending out cards, there are still a lot of people out there that enjoy sending cards for every occasion including birthdays, graduations, and weddings. If you know such a person (and almost everyone does), a gift like this might be just what the doctor ordered.

People Who Enjoy Handwriting

Some people just don’t like technology, and prefer to put things down on paper. For those people stationery is a way of life. They might spend hundreds of dollars a year on personalized stationery. By gifting them a subscription to a stationary subscription service, you will be doing a great favor for them, on that they will remember for a long time.

Bottom Line

People who like to send mail the old fashioned way are probably people who would like a stationery subscription. This is a great gift for the people in your life who enjoy to do things in a certain way. While technology has made handwriting much less important, but it is still something a lot of people enjoy doing. For those people, a stationery subscription service would be a great gift.

3 Benefits To Using a Stationery Subscription Service September 18 2014, 0 Comments

Subscription services have become very popular because they allow you to receive many benefits over the course of the month, without having to go to the store or make an added effort to get the product into your home. Everyone is familiar with at least one or two popular services that take advantage of this model in order to provide immense convince and value to their customers (Netflix and Amazon Prime are excellent examples).

But what about a stationery subscription service? What value is there in that? Today we’re going to look at three reasons why you would want to subscribe to a stationery subscription service.

Saves You Money

This is probably the most important reason. If you use a lot of stationery each month to send out birthday cards, handwritten notes, and thank you cards, then it is important that you have the proper tools. More than that, however, it is important that those tools don’t break the bank. By subscribing to a stationery subscription service, you no longer have to worry about ordering stationery in small packages that cost tons to ship. Subscribing will save you money.

Never Not Have Stationery
